1 L5 Computing Team Project Final Presentation Guidelines

2 Presentation Each team has been allocated 7 minutes maximum per person Aim to deliver your presentation within 5-6 minutes per person to allow time for setup and questions. The individual time allocation should be adjusted depending on scale of tasks undertaken Practice your presentation check to see you can demo your product in the presentation room Don’t read continuously from slides or note sheets Make sure your name is on your slides Make sure it is clear which tasks you completed individually. Check the schedule on PDC X-Stream Remember to bring TWO mark sheets with Team ID and student names already entered Arrive ahead of time and wait quietly.

3 Assessment The final presentation includes –PDC (Individual 50%) –Group Project Implementation (Team 60% weighted) –Group Project Evaluation (Team 60% weighted) Refer to Peer Assessment Form for details of weighting.

4 Professional Development in Context 60% This is an individual mark You must ensure that you can clearly evidence all your own product development work in terms of design, build, testing and evaluation. Check with your context leader to ensure you are clear about exactly what evidence they want to see.

5 Group Project Implementation 60% Project Implementation –Product –Team Skills –Project Monitoring and Control –Project Management Techniques –Project Portfolio

6 Group Project Implementation Product –Completeness does it meet the spec and was the spec adequate? –HCI is the interface easy to use and intuitive? –Functionality does it have a comprehensive range of functions/features? –Quality is it built to a professional standard? evidence of testing, does it do the job, would you buy it? –Integration do all the elements fit together well and does it link with 3 rd party products effectively? –Check with Context Leader for specific details

7 Group Project Implementation Team Skills –Evidence of effective team management How was the team managed? –Communication Methods used how effective? –Team contribution Was it a full team effort?

8 Group Project Implementation Project Monitoring and Control –Evidence of effective project monitoring & control. Actual against planned activities. Effective use of PM software e.g.baseline tracking Detail and Accuracy of planning - milestones Actions taken to address problems - deadlines

9 Group Project Implementation Project Management Techniques –Effective use of Project management tools Gantt Chart, documentation etc. Evidence of effective use of the PM software Evidence of use of other software e.g. Portfolio software, version control

10 Group Project Implementation Project Team Portfolio –Must be submitted to your context leader following your presentation –It should contain copies of all project documents including all mark sheets. –Include a disc with the product code and relevant files with a document that describes the file content. –Printed code listings can be included. –In a binder with a contents list and clearly labelled sections –Professional standard –Include a peer assessment form(see PDC X-Stream)

11 Group Project Evaluation (60%) –Critical reflection of project processes and outcomes. Lessons Learned Were the processes used successful? If not why not? What could have been done differently? What have you learned for future projects? –Critical Evaluation of the product against the requirements Did you satisfy ALL the requirements?

12 Peer Assessment Peer assessment form see PDC Week 11. Your team should submit one peer. assessment form in the portfolio indicating the relative efforts for each member. If no form submitted all will get same mark This will be used to adjust the weighting of the Final Presentation team mark for Group Project Implementation and Group Project Evaluation.

14 Grades Grades will be entered into X-stream following receipt of the portfolio please check and notify context leader promptly if you spot any discrepancies. Feedback will be available from context leaders in week 14 by arrangement. Good Luck and remember to use lessons learned from the project this year on next year’s project and on your placement.
