You can find it beginning in the Tools menu above. – Tools then – Audio then – Audio Setup Wizard Please scroll through the first few slides and (re)read the technical group norms and discussion group norms prior to each meeting.

4 Before - Intended Learning Outcomes Use the Blackboard Collaborate online meeting room with increasing ease – Run a successful audio setup – Communicate in the main room and breakout rooms by: Using the whiteboard tools Using the chat window Turning on and off the “stepped away from the session” indicator Use emoticons Put your hand up and down Participate in a poll

5 Before - Intended Learning Outcomes (continued) Experience a literature circle in action Know how to access all of the meeting dates at any time Begin to develop a “product” for our final sharing session (The ownership piece of assessment for learning.)

6 Before - Technical Group Norms Run the audio setup wizard prior to each session Turn your mic on and off as needed When in breakout rooms, once a timer has expired, wrap up your conversations and turn off your microphone Use the step away button, emoticons, hand up/down buttons when appropriate Alert us to questions that go unanswered in the chat box Use the chat box to make connections as other people are speaking

7 Before - Discussion Group Norms Give the book title and page number that you are referring to All voices must be included and participants must feel included – Let people pass – Take turns – Interrupt politely – Show enthusiasm using emoticons or the chat window – Give everyone a chance to respond before you take a second turn Keep Lines of Thinking Alive – Please refer to Table 4-2 From Comprehension Through Conversation on the following slide The discussion should move us to new understandings

9 Beginning With The End In Mind For the final sharing session each of you will be asked to share how your thinking has been transformed as a result of your reading. – Your monthly React With Nonfiction (Fact/React) sheets could be used to complete: Transforming My Thinking and this could be used as the basis for your sharing at the last session. For the last sharing session you will be asked to submit: – Transforming My Thinking or another “product” of your choice that will help the group see how your thinking has been transformed as a result of your reading. Other “products” might include but are not limited to: A book review Mindmap/Ideagram creation

Use the same link for the last literature circle meeting on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 @ 4 PM. (Cypher Math Leadership Group also meets on - Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 4 PM)
