File system: NFS for all UNIX users’ home directory – default location for all files. Currently, 3 partitions, 35GB each

Major statistical programs: SAS, S+, SAGE, CAGE, Linkage, ACT Programming environment: FORTRAN, C, C++, Java, PHP, Perl, Shell scripting

This is where you are actually logging into. Files are backed up via SANS, daily. John Fueger will give a talk on SANS on Wednesday February 2nd, 2005

Will retire soon and be replaced be a new SUN box for additional computing capacity. User can access its CPUs, Memory, and run Customize compiled programs Use of this box can cause network congestion – ask for temp spaces! Should we back up this one?

Web application server (oracle client etc.) No computational tasks please Will be upgraded to a new box early 2005
