Lesson One: PowerTeacher – Entering Grades From Home

To be able to add assignments / grades from home, you must first have your categories* set up in PowerGrade. *Categories – test – quizzes - … Not the actual assignments. You will set the assignments up in PowerTeacher – over the Internet.

Log in to PowerTeacher Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Go to the Lakeland School Corporation website, click on Teacher Portal, and scroll down to PowerTeacher – Below is the page you want.

PowerTeacher home page Chair = Attendance Fork / Knife = Meal count – not used by LSC Backpack = Student information – Cumulative grade information Demographics Internet Access statistics for Parent and Students Quick look-up Printer – Printing reports Grade book = for entering assignments and scores from home Personal tab = changing your password Daily Bulletins – mostly LHS & LMS

Once you click on the back pack, this window will appear. Click New.

First - Select the Category you are creating the assignment in, then fill in the information requested. After clicking new, this window will appear.

Fill in the rest of the requested information – Assignment Name – Abbreviated Name – Possible Points – Weight – Due Date – and a Description - - just like you would in PowerGrade. The only difference is that you can not attach standards from Power Teacher. You will need to do that from PowerGrade once you return to school.

You will see you class list below the assignment information. Enter the students grades in the box next to their name.

Review your information.

If you have missing scores, don’t worry, you can enter grades for those students once you get back to school, through PowerGrade. Once you have reviewed your work – Click the submit button at the bottom of the page.

You’re done entering grades from home … now what?? The next time you log onto PowerGrade at school, your work from home will sync, (show up) and you will be able to see your newly entered grades! Now you can add any scores that were missed, correct any mistakes, and attach your standards.
