2 Teaching Teaching is an art, not just reading from a book and reproducing in the class room.

3 Good teaching calls for thorough preparation organized content (lesson planning) high quality content optimum quantity of content logical sequence relevant for students student-oriented teaching methodology.

5 Hypothesis Students can reflect on their communication skills and find strategies to hone them.

6 Procedure Students were asked to rate themselves on three parameters –Thoughts (ideas), Vocabulary, & Grammar for enhanced communication. They came up with few more parameters to rate themselves on. This exercise of self-reflection helped students know their strengths & areas where they were required to work. Based on the results of their rating on the parameters, they were asked to analyse and write methods they would deploy to enhance their skills. The class adapted one method- ‘Group Discussion’. The class was divided into groups. Each group was assigned a topic. They discussed the topic and wrote the paragraph. They worked on the task keeping the result of self assessment in mind. Each member of the group spoke a few sentences on the given topic.

16 Findings Students were able to: reflect on their communication skills. analyse the methods they would deploy to hone their skills. work towards honing their skills through one of the strategies adapted in the class- ‘Group Discussion’.

17 Hypothesis Proved Students were able to reflect on their communication skills and find strategies to hone them. They participated in the activity- ‘Group Discussion’ with the goal of honing their communication skills. A view of the same.

18 Teacher’s Reflection We must understand students. Accept individual differences in the classroom. Engage students in setting high goals and expectations. Be flexible and try not to be surprised by anything that happens in the classroom! Be creative.
