Introduction IMAGINE: You are sitting in one of your least favorite classes and you start drifting off to sleep. You start dreaming about yourself being in one of the biggest football games of your life. The clock is winding down and the quarterback throws a pass to the end zone. YOU CATCH IT!!! You won the game for your team. Then you wake up and wonder where did football come from? and what kind of man must created such an amazing game?

Activity Split into 4 groups – Group 1 Study history of football – Group 2 Study specific records in the NFL – Group 3 Study certain positions in football – Group 4 Study safety precautions/equipment in football

Process Within each group will be 3 group members. Each member will have a designated position from football: 1.Since every good quarterback should have excellent leadership skills, the quarterback of the group will be the leader of the group and keep everything organized. 2.Since every lineman should have a balance between classroom and football “smarts,” the lineman of the group will be the person that strategizes on how they will go about looking for the answers. 3.Since the coach is the person who is always there for guidance, the coach of the group will be the person who gives the most suggestions on what to do and how to do it.

Congratulations! You did a great job! You now have what it takes to be considered a football master, and also have the information needed to become a football coach someday! Other activities: Field trip to a stadium Virtual tour on Google Earth Make a Glog using football facts Make a Wordle using football terms Organize a pick-up game of football

Evaluations Now that you have all learned about the creation of football, now you must create a poster board about a professional NFL player. You must also get into a group and set up how you would see the offensive and defensive side of the field.
