4 ATP 2 Crash Data Rural Crashes 94% of the CSAH/CR severe crashes occurred in rural areas. Non-Intersection Related Crashes o 64% of CSAH/CR rural severe crashes are non-intersection related. ‒ 65% of these are road departure crashes, 45% of which occurred on a curve. Intersection Related Crashes o 33% of CSAH/CR rural severe crashes are intersection related. ‒ 76% of these crashes occurred at a thru-STOP intersection. Polk County Crash Data Rural Crashes 97% of the CSAH/CR severe crashes occurred in rural areas. Non-Intersection Related Crashes o 46% of CSAH/CR rural severe crashes are non-intersection related. ‒ 54% of these are road departure crashes, 29% of which occurred on a curve.
