3. Welcome Address Brief history of the Society – The constitution governing the society was adopted on 16 th March 2011 – The society was inaugurated on 5 th Dec., 2011. With founding members including Dr. Emmanuel Amissah, the interim President – The past committee/leaders have done a very good job over the years, by organising fun-filled and educative programmes to revive the society.

4. Welcome Address Aim – To provide a platform for promoting friendship, support, unity through the Ghanaian culture and to increase knowledge about the Ghanaian heritage in Nottingham.

5. Welcome Address Objectives – To sell the beauty and culture of Ghana in Nottingham, especially through organised events. – To seek the general welfare of students through channels helping new students especially Ghanaian to settle quickly in Nottingham. – To keep alive and strengthen the bonds of friendship established in the University

Recommended Projects – Work with the Ghana embassy to serve as the society’s sponsor. – In conjunction with the embassy organise annual Ghanaian Students conference once its established Ghanaian societies from other Universities can bid to host in turns. – Discuss possibility of Establishing Nottingham University African campus in Ghana. – If possible identify and arrange placement and internship opportunities to any student interested in the working in Ghana Welcome Address
