3 3 The census in 2011 (and other registers) The census –19 november 2011 – the status in administrative registers –Denmark, Finland - Norway, Sweden –18 European countries uses more or less adm.registers –The cost of the Norwegian census is 0.5 dollar per capita –The cost of the US census is 87 dollar per capita –EU comparison approach Some registers in Norway –The tax declaration register –The labor force register –The land register –The pension register –The support register –The education register –The product register –The trade register –Etc A huge potential for GIS information based om micro data –Confidentiality issues –From macro to grid?

4 4 European Statistical Training Programme The purpose of the European Statistical Training Programme (ESTP) is to provide European statisticians the opportunity to participate in international training courses, workshops and seminars at postgraduate level. Courses under the ESTP have a truly international dimension to meet the challenges of comparable statistics at European and international level. Courses focus on harmonised European concepts and legislation, as well as the implementation practices at national level. The programme is coordinated by Eurostat. Courses are delivered either at Eurostat premises in Luxembourg or in national training sites of EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.
