Clinical Manifestations Charcot’s triad (56-70%) Fever (90%) Abdominal pain Jaundice Reynold’s pentad (5-7%) Hypotension Confusion Immunocompromised, obese males, elderly may have atypical presentations, so need to have a high level of suspicion

Suspect Diagnosis if… Patient has one of the following Fever and/or shaking chills Laboratory evidence of an inflammatory response AND one of the following Jaundice Abnormal liver chemistries Diagnosis is definite when…meet criteria for a suspected diagnosis and also has… Biliary dilatation on imaging Evidence of an etiology on imaging (ie stone)
