Parts of the human ear:

Different Types of Hearing Loss Sensorineural Hearing loss- Inner ear nerves are damaged. Damaged Hair cells- Caused by loud sounds, aging, or disease. They can’t grow back! Conductive Hearing loss-Obstructions in the outer or middle ear. Sounds cannot enter the middle ear.

How do Hearing Aids work? Hearing Aids are small electronic devices that amplify sounds. Incoming signals are converted and goes through your ear. There is a microphone that picks up sound waves around your ear. You can adjust the volume or turn if off. Hearing aids can eliminate harsh sounds.

How did Beethoven become deaf? Beethoven didn’t become suddenly deaf. It happened slowly. He became deaf from having nerve damage in his ear. Nerve damage in the ear doesn’t let nerves go through the inner ear to the brain.

How are Ultrasound images produced? It produces echoes as sound passes through the body. It can identify distance size and shape of objects inside. Echoes come from a computer in the Ultrasound Machine and it transforms it into pictures. Ultrasound waves passes through fluids and soft tissue.
