3 ● Past Continuous se používá pro označení děje který právě probíhal v okamžiku, kdy nastal jiný děj. ● Last Saturday, Paul was playing football in the park when he saw Jane ● Past Simple označuje ukončený minulý děj ● Last Saturday morning, Paul played football in the park. 4 Past Simple and Past Continuous ● Past simple se často používá, hovoříme-li o událostech, které po sobě následovaly chronologicky: ● When Ann James left university, she went to work for a bank. She left the bank after five years, and wrote a book which... ● Ve vyprávění a v příbězích se často používá tvarů Past Continuous k popisu dějů, které právě probíhaly v okamžiku, kdy nastal nějaký jiný děj: ● The sun was shinning. People were sitting under the trees or walking around the park.Suddenly a car drove into the park....
