4 Key achievements Cut of CO 2 in 07/08 compared to 06/07 of 1,900 tonnes = 1.8 million miles by London Bus £210k saving on year

10 Clinton Climate Initiative Measures include insulation, lighting and heating controls 10 stations to retrofit energy efficiency measures 25-30% energy reduction expected, 10 yr payback

15 Information Technology Thin Client terminals since 1999: 80% energy saving over PCs Server power down at evenings and weekends: saving ~ 21,000 kW/Hrs/yr = 3.7 tonnes CO 2 /quarter

16 IT Virtualisation: reduction of physical servers by 2/3  88% reduction in energy Sharepoint –further reducing storage needs Information Technology

19 Recycling Initiatives Monthly average recycling rates across sites = 44% Hose Recycling: 50% profits donated to Fire Fighters Charity Battery recycling Printer cartridge recycling

21 Adaptation Response Mobilisation procedures Future: develop an adaptation strategy for LFB
