9 ART HONORS PICKING A THEME HERE'S AN EXAMPLE: 1. My theme is: CARS (keep it broad/general). 2. I need 15 projects using "Cars" as my theme. This will cover the first semester, but I can stop using a theme whenever I want! Here are some ideas that incorporate at least 5 different media (materials): 1. Drawing with pencil using shading techniques depicting a full composition. 2. A magnification (could be part of the fender or a tire) using pastels. 3. A sculpture using old car parts and liquid nails(a strong glue) - may be painted. 4. A synthetic collage combining nuts and bolts and pictures from magazines. Collages may also incorporate paint, fabric, papier mache, mosaic, etc. 5. Paper collage (tear construction paper) with mountain scenery and a car on a road. 6. Woodblock Print (or linoleum, or dry point technique). 7. Wire sculpture of a 3-D car. 8. Acrylic Painting - Representational (Realism). 9. Acrylic Painting - Abstract (Simplification). 10. Charcoal drawing of an antique car. 11. A design of my own dream car (not on the market). 12. Pen and Ink drawing with watercolor brush. 13. Pen and Ink drawing using stipple and other textures. 14. Self - Portrait with car using colored pencils. 15. Plaster and wire sculpture combination. 16. Composition on a social commentary like pollution or politics, or animal abuse, etc. Use mixed media. 17. Surrealism painting - watercolor or colored inks. 18. Triptych - 3 sectional panels rendering a metamorphism of a car or a magnification of a car. You can make it representational or abstract. * Style/Model/Year of car can change!
