The CAIU is one of 29 ESA’s in Pennsylvania. Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, and Northern York Counties in south central PA. We focus our efforts on our 24 member districts, 2 area vocational technical schools, over 60 non-public schools, several charter schools and cyber charter schools

EST. 2008/09 SY CAOLA is a collaborative effort by the school districts to allow options for every learner. Some of these options are: Meet basic graduation requirements Accelerate or enhance enrichment opportunities Allow for credit recovery and intervention Enhance regular classroom instruction

Replace an ineffective homegrown online solution Online solution is a supplement to traditional, brick-and-mortar school --- students remain enrolled in schools High school first (2009/10); middle(2010/11) and elementary (2011/12) Higher quality over greater quantity

Any district or ESA can join CAOLA Member Districts Pay annual membership fee based on student census enrollment in grades 7-12 : $12,000 annual small district $24,000 Annual medium/large district Pay a per course fee Intermediate Unit’s Pay a one time fee Work with IU to determine further structure Assist with branding CAOLA becomes the silent partner
