4 Linen – Flax plant – 6-40 inches long – Usually worn by royalty – Purple Wool – Crimped fibers – Spongy feel – insulation Clothing was either spun or weaved. The fabrics that were used were Linen and Wool.

5 Homes Homes in the 1600’s – Sheds – Stick houses – Wooden plated houses What is a palisade? – Wall or barrier – Protects from invasion

6 Puritan Family Life Men planted crops, built fences, worked with livestock. Women cared for children and cooked, sewed, and cleaned. Children didn’t attend school. Had own specific jobs. – Boys- hunting and fishing – Girls –baking, cooking, knitting

7 Families' Free Time Games- hide and seek – tug of war. – kites, – dolls Stories passed down through generations. Sabbath Day specially designed for Bible reading and live-stock tending.
