2 2 Timeline Submit your collection of evidence: By April 20 th, or a date established by your evaluator Receive the final evaluation report: By April 22 nd, if non-PTS By June 1 st, if PTS is due to receive a summative evaluation By June 20 th, if PTS is due to receive a formative evaluation Sign the evaluation report to acknowledge receipt: By June 1 st Have a conference with the evaluator (optional) By June 1 st Required if the summative rating is “Needs Improvement” or “Unsatisfactory” Optional if summative rating is “Proficient” or “Exemplary”

3 3 Overview of summative evaluations What is the purpose? (1) for you to receive feedback on how you did this year and how you can continue to grow (2) for the evaluator to determine a rating on your performance that determines your educator plan and/or staffing for next year What is your role? Gather and submit your collection of evidence that is: Meaningful (quality is more important than quantity) Covers all 6 areas of evaluation: 1. Student learning goal: 2. Professional practice goal: 3. Standard I: 4. Standard II: 5. Standard III: 6. Standard IV:

5 5 Exercise #1: Think like an evaluator – assess the goals Step 1: Take out the handout “Exercise: Goal Attainment” Step 2: Review the educator’s goal and data. Step 3: Using the rubric, determine a rating on the educator’s attainment of goal. Provide a rationale for your rating.
