7. Moving on Up Winter 1965, Jimi starts playing with the Upsetters, main singer, Little Richard. Hendrix moves to New York with Little Richard. 8. The Jimi Hendrix Experience The Animals guitarist noticed Jimi and sent him to London to create a band with musicians there. 9. “Are You Experienced?” Dec. 1966, Jimi finished writing “Purple Haze”, which would soon be a #1 hit in the US. May 1967, “Are You Experienced?” was released in the UK, and soon after in America. 10. Musician of the Year June 18, 1967, Monterey Pop Festival in California, Hendrix outplayed all other bands, and ends up lighting his guitar on fire at the end of his show. Hendrix begins playing many famous American places such as the Fillmore. 11. An American Music Icon Summer of 68, he plays the Singer Bowl with The Doors. He is realitivly close with Bob Dylan, who lets him use songs such as All Along the Watchtower. 12. The End of an Era 1969, Jimi was musician of the year again August 18, 1969, Northern New York Hendrix closed the 3 day Woodstock concert.
