Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) February, 2016 SOC is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) through a contract with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The contract is managed for DoD by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES).

7 Membership CriteriaDefinition Delivery MethodsFlexible and multiple Delivery Methods, as identified by the U.S. Department of Education Emerging Career Fields Degree program is listed as an emerging high demand career field with positive job placement opportunities, per U.S. Department of Labor Guaranteed Transferability (GT) Participate in two-way guarantee of coursework with a minimum of 40% in the Major/Major Related degree requirements Specialized Accreditation Degree has specialized programmatic accreditation, as identified by the U.S. Department of Education Career-Related Degree A direct relationship to MOS/Ratings. If yes, does the Institution agree to award credit for military training and experience? Program Articulations Identification of existing articulation agreements (in-state, 2+2, degree completion) for the degree Degree-Level Criteria for DNS Membership

16 Annual Update The SOC DNS Handbook update reviews the following:  List of degrees approved as part of the DNS  List of courses included in the Transferability Tables  College policies  College point-of-contact (POC)  Locations and course delivery methods

17 Courses “tentatively” assigned Category Codes based on course content New course not added to Category Code or rejecting college’s course removed from Category Code General Education, major, and major- related courses reviewed Peer review: circulation process not 100% approved 100% approved Course is entered into T-Tables if degree meets 40% standard SOC DNS Circulation Process

18 Moving Forward  New members will be invited to join the DNS  SOC will integrate new degrees from current DNS members  SOC will announce an application period for new network development  Focus on Emerging Career Fields  News about ongoing membership/degree initiatives will be posted on our Web site and through other information channels
