One also obtains an image of the surface cover.  Quality of the data depends on: terrain roughness sampling density (elevation data collection method) grid resolution or pixel size interpolation algorithm vertical resolution terrain analysis algorithm  CMC uses the following files:  \CMC Source Data \World 3, resolution of \World 30: *.DEM files  Whole world dataset: 40GB  Files describing cell of 1deg x 1deg
