2. Course Description As mentioned in the High School Program of Studies: European History CPA is a more general study of Western history with an emphasis on modern Europe. In the fall semester there will be a chronological study of the social, economic, and political life in Europe through the Reformation. Included are units on, Greece, Rome, the Middle Ages, and the period of the Renaissance and Reformation. The spring semester continues the study of Europe from the Age of Absolutism through World War II and the Holocaust. Included are units on the English, French, and Industrial Revolutions, German and Italian unification, and the origins and results of World Wars I and II. Students will be required to utilize research skills in completing an assigned research project.
