2 Professional Development (Spring 2011) Value-Added Training (Grades 3-8) Stinson Staff (3-5) (March 15 th – 7:00 am) Middle School (6-8) (March 14 th – 2:30 pm) Standards Overview Training (April and May) All Grades receive Training in New Standards (ODE PP) NW Plan for rolling out Standards Curriculum Crosswalks (Begin distributing to Grade Level Teams) Get crosswalks to staff to begin exploring differences in current standards and new standards in Grade Level meetings Unwrapping Standards (Spring – March – May) Training for Administrators Training for DLT/BLT Members Prepare for August In-service and Waiver Day

4 Professional Development (Spring 2011) Teacher/Principal Evaluation Model (RttT Section D) Assemble Team Members (NTA and Admin) Gather Current Evaluation Tools (Teacher and Admin) Examine Teacher/Principal Evaluation Models (RttT/ODE provided still waiting ) Gap Analysis comparing existing tools with state models Determine areas needing to be addressed

5 Professional Development (2011-2012) August 22 & 23, 2011 August 22, 2011 - Standards “Unwrapping” Presentation on new standards & NW’s plans for the roll-out of new standards Presentation on process of “Unwrapping Standards” Staff will work in grade level/content teams to begin the process of unwrapping the new standards and creating pacing guides for all content areas.

8 Professional Development (2011-2012) Monthly Offerings: September, November, January, March and May – Curriculum Based October, December, February, April – Technology Based February 2012- District In-service Day Unwrapping Standards Pacing Guides Introduction to Formative and Summative Assessments (very tentative)

9 Professional Development (2012-2013) Train all staff on the use of common formative and summative assessments. Focus on creating common formative and summative assessments Roll out the new common core and state standards Grades K-5 (phased in over 2 years) Grades 6-12 – all content areas Train all Kindergarten Staff on new KRAL
