4 Generation (gen-er-a-tion) (noun)- all of the people of about the same age in a family The people in Peter’s generation include his parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins.

5 anxiety (anx-i-e-ty) (noun)- a strong feeling of worry Thoughts of reciting a poem before the class fills Mary with anxiety.

6 utter (ut-ter) (verb)- to speak or make a sound from your mouth Lazaria likes to utter words from the podium about staying in school.

7 Depressing (de-press-ing) (adjective) – making you feel sad The thought of having her children move back home was very depressing for Martha.

8 vacant (va-cant) (adjective)- empty The playground was vacant because the students were out for the summer.
