Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY EFFECTIVENESS IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN-1

We have developed a minimum data set for communication within the electronics supply chain We have evaluated the commercially available / open anti-counterfeiting technologies against the minimum data requirements. We have identified the application sweet-spot for each commercially available technologies within the supply chain (Detailed Report Available to HDP Membership Only.) Phases 1 and 2 Summary

© HDP User Group International, Inc. Anti-Counterfeiting of Electronics Phase 3 Project Proposal The Anti-counterfeiting Team proposed to investigate the current traceability Best Practices of the Electronics Supply Chain, and to compare them to the recommendations from Phases 1 and 2. The interviews would be conducted by an independent third party, who would then anonymize the respondents to protect intellectual property and trade secrets. Phase 3 requires soliciting sensitive information from member companies. HDPug needs a third party to conduct survey. Might require funding to conduct survey.

Actions Taken Attempted to draw interest from SMTA Toronto Chapters Counterfeit Electronic Workshop – Not successful. Observation: – Most companies are interested in the counterfeit topic, but the problem is too broad to motivate participation. – Anti-counterfeit program as proactive measure. © HDP User Group International, Inc.

Timeline Counterfeit Electronic team to approve content and questions in survey (Target date: May 19 Thursday) Decide on survey approach, HDPUG has any specific survey method? Google form? Survey monkey?) (Target date: May 19 Thursday) Send to all members (Target date: May 23 Monday) Close the survey by June 15 Summarize report and decision by June 20 © HDP User Group International, Inc.
