WIRELESS MULTIMETER

Introduction Wireless multimeter acquires data from far off locations and from places not accessible to human beings (e.g. Boiler room) and transmit this data through serial communication. In this system all the important parameters are measured precisely & send to control room.

THINGS TO DO Acquiring data from the location & display. Transmission of data using Radio Frequency. Observe results at receiver side on PC.

Block diagram A

Temperature sensor (LM-35) Features:- Calibrated Directly in ° Celsius (Centigrade) Linear + 10 mV/°C Scale Factor 0.5°C Ensured Accuracy (at +25°C) Rated for Full −55°C to +150°C Range Suitable for Remote Applications Low Cost Due to Wafer-Level Trimming Operates from 4 to 30 V Less than 60-μA Current Drain Low Self-Heating, 0.08°C in Still Air Nonlinearity Only ±¼°C Typical Low Impedance Output, 0.1 W for 1 mA Load

Gas sensor (MQ-6) Features:- High sensitivity to LPG, iso-butane, propane Small sensitivity to alcohol, smoke Fast response. Stable and long life Simple drive circuit

LCD 16x2 module Features:- 5x8 dots with cursor. 16 characters,2 line display. 4-bit or 8-bit MPU interfaces. Built in controller(st7066 or equivalent). Display mode & blacklight variations.

Readings at transmitter side

outputs at receiver side(on pc)

APPLICATIONS This system saves time, money & labor. The accuracy is more. Avoids continuous monitoring of various parameter in hazardous area. The data is directly available in control room it is for graph plotting. The data can be saved for long time in control room for record.

CONCLUSION We have Successfully observed the readings at transmitter side on LCD module. Also observed the same readings at receiver on PC, which indicates the successful transmission using RF.

Thank you.
