2 Introduction The project is made keeping in view the losses that are caused if proper check is not kept on generator. This kit would help to avoid a disaster if any malfunctioning occurs. This would be a step in increasing profit of the user and efficiency of the generator. Rental companies will be greatly benefited by this type of low cost ECM. Automatic transmission of signal using GSM module makes it eye catching, as this avoids a great danger.

3 Block Diagarm.

4 Description Power supply(5V/-9V/12V(unreg)). µC 89C51 microcontroller to turn the relays ON/OFF according to the switch output. GSM module to transmit the warning message to the recipient mobile. Data cables and RS232 for computer connectivity. LCD display for parameters value. LCD to display the current and battery voltages alternately to keep check.

7 Enclosure (Proposed) A specially molded rectangular plastic case with a LCD fitting on it. Electrically insulated from within. Only leads of switches coming out of the case. A rubber covering for better grip and insulation. (Proposed) Connectivity for direct programming of controller.

8 Results Hardware circuits simulated on multisim 6 - positive results. Critical circuits tested on bread board. Software coding-successful interfacing coding. AT commands for GSM modem tested on SONY ERICSSON(T290) using windows Hyper- terminal. Current parameter measured successfully. Frequency parameter under test.

9 Applications By Gen-Set rental companies. By heavy industries to keep check on their Gen-Set. To increase efficiency of generators. Automatic Shut down in panic gives it versatile applications. For Gen-Set in refrigerated vans.
