2. Who actually needs help??? Does every welfare recipients need and deserve the help? What about is they are cheating the system? Is it ok for my tax dollars to go to someone who for example smokes pot? People who do drugs lessen their own opportunities in life how is that my job to help?

3. PROBLEM: DO SOME WELFARE RECIPIENTS USING DRUGS ABUSE THE SYSTEM? There is a need for action in the welfare system regulation. I am a firm believer in helping those whom help themselves. I believe the welfare system in Rhode Island should drug test individual as part of the application process. This is a way to avoid people who cheat the system. Society today has changed. I have been working since I was 15 without help. Some individuals today will not obtain a job because it is easier to “CHEAT THE SYSTEM” as they refer to it. I believe implementing drug screenings of all types will either force the individual to quit the drugs or go out and obtain a job for income. You are not setting yourself up to succeed if your doing drugs so do we allow these individuals to obtain government assistants?

4. We should drug test individuals by blood testing, swabbing the mouth, or hair samples. People who do drugs or cheat the system have found ways to bypass urine drug testing…

5. Drug Testing vs. Not Drug Testing Drug Test Will save the government and tax payers money. Family with children will have a safer environment for the child or child will be placed in safer environment. Applicants will most likely be applicants that are in need, not individuals who lack the ambition to work. If implemented every renewal period to drug test it will make it more difficult for applicant to be a dependent of drugs. Tax payers like myself will feel better about helping the ones in need. I have seen one too many times individuals abuse the system. I work to hard to have my money be spent by an individuals who will spend it on drugs. If you have the means to do drugs you have the means to support yourself. No Drug Testing Applicants will continue to receive benefits and use these benefits for drugs. Government will continue to loose money that can be used for other helpful programs, ex: families of soldiers.
