3. Realistic Fantasy Is full of fantasy elements but reads like realistic fiction. Includes items like characters in school doing every day things (but still involving magic).

4. Historical Fiction Is known for being partially based on a real event in history. These novels cover a specific period in time other than the present or future.

5. Action Adventure This genre involves fast paced adventures or quests. Can involve the supernatural but not required.

6. Is any type of novel that contains one or more of the following: Solving a strange event or circumstance Discovering the truth behind something unknown Solving a crime or wrongdoing Spies Mystery

7. Happens during modern times (when it was written) and has characters that experiences events that really could happen Realistic Fiction

8. Is usually set in space or on a different world. These novels frequently take place in the future in a different universe or dimension. Science Fiction
