2 Entertainment There were many types of entertainment, festivals, and holidays. Games like chess and backgammon were very popular Jesters were very common Archery and Horseshoes was played by all classes, rich and poor The rich enjoyed jousting, feasts, and banquets

3 Foods of the Middle Ages Good quality food was expensive and hard to come by If you lived in a manor house, there was a lot of good food available Kings and monarchs ate very well Peasants ate whatever they could find Wheat based foods were very common Pottage and bread were favorable Raw vegetables were considered unhealthy

4 Clothing Women wore “chemiacs or bodices” also known as dresses. They wore at least one tunic down to their ankles Men wore tunics down to their knees Wealthier men wore leather shoes Nuns and monks wore simple clothing, usually black and white

5 Music Many of the music that was written was very hard to translate Most composers were men Jongleurs were professional musicians who wandered from town to town
