Company Overview High Energy Devices, LLC evolved through the acquisition of the High Energy Devices product line from Clare, Inc. in 2001.  HED manufactures and sells worldwide a broad range of specialized surge voltage protectors and electrical energy transfer products utilizing gas tube technology.  Our products provide solutions for difficult applications in avionics, industrial, military and medical markets. We work closely with our customers to develop the best solution for their application needs.  We provide a high level of technical support and customer service.  All products are manufactured in Bridgeton, MO.  Our company meets both the Small Business and Buy American Act requirements.

Vision and Mission S.P.A.R.K.S. Values ServicePartnerships Absolute Integrity RespectKnowledgeSuccess Our objective is to deliver products and services on- time as requested as well as providing a high level of technical support and customer service. We look forward to establishing partnerships with our customers, our vendors, and our employees. We adhere to strict moral and ethical principals in all phases of our organization. We respect the interests and goals of each of our partners. Our technical support staff will work with our partners to help select the best product or service needed. Our success will be measured by customers choosing HED products to meet or exceed their expectations. Mission: At HED, we are dedicated to providing high voltage circuit protection and energy transfer spark gap solutions, at competitive prices, that meet our customer's requirements. Vision: HED will continue to monitor theoretical advances in gas discharge technology that occur in the scientific community that may lead to faster operating spark gaps. This in turn will allow us to develop new products to further extend protection beyond the nano- second limits. ValuesValues

Our Core Competencies HED focuses on these fundamental principles:  Providing technical assistance to clients regarding product specifications, circuit design, and application use  Helping prevent obsolescence of original equipment sold to military customers by continuing production of Legacy components  Designing and manufacturing long lasting (up to millions of operations) and ultra-fast spark gaps for high voltage transient and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection  Employing effective production methods to deliver products and services as required

What makes us different from our competitors? HED continues to manufacture gas discharge products to protect electronic systems from the effect of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high power microwave (HPM) weapons.  HED product design incorporates high electric field breakdown to attain nano-second response. This is a key feature which has been integrated into the Uni-Imp, TB, TG and TX Series.  TB and TG saucer-shaped three electrode triggered spark gaps feature low inductance and fast rise time.  Many products (UBD, TA, TB, TX Series) can be manufactured to a +/- 5% dc breakdown tolerance.  HED’s in-house machine shop allows for quick turnaround of custom jobs.  HED will integrate and coordinate the services and products of external partners to address customer’s total needs, including testing and trigger transformers.  Sample quantity lead times: 2 weeks  Standard lead times: 4 - 6 weeks  All products are

Global Clients  Typical kinds of companies served include:  Major global aerospace and defense companies  Commercial jetliner manufacturer  Subcontractors to major OEM’s and government agencies  Defense contractors  American R & D Laboratories  U.S. Government Support Agencies  Manufacturers of EBW detonators  Manufacturers of medical devices equipment

Avionics Radar Jamming The PMT(301) has been designed into F-15 aircraft for the purpose of protecting high voltage components in the radar jamming device.

Military Surveillance Radar Based upon a request from a global aerospace company, HED redesigned the original spark gap into a more durable and robust device. This redesign has resulted in significantly less field failures. The UBD protects the screen grid of the power output tube.

Military Missile Defensive Systems The TX Series is used as a triggering device for missile launching circuits.

Military Missile Firing System The TX Series was designed and developed specifically for use in the Longbow Hellfire Missile System.

Military Missile Launching The UBD(274) was selected to protect critical launch circuits in the Patriot Missile.

Military Two Stage Missile Separation The TA or TX Series Triggered Spark Gap is used as the switching device in a basic exploding bridge wire circuit. The circuit is designed to minimize the wiring resistance and inductance to transfer the maximum energy to the explosive in the shortest possible time.

Military Jitter and Delay Time Test Measurement An American R & D laboratory considers their projects confidential. However, in recent inquiries, their main focus has been on jitter and delay time test measurements. They have purchased several types of spark gaps to meet their requirements.

Military Submarine Cable Protection The UBT Series has been used for protecting the high voltage power supply in submarines.

Military Submarine Telecom Repeater Surge Voltage Protection The PMT(301) is used for submarine telecom repeater surge voltage protection.

Military High Reliability Trigger Discharge Triggered spark gaps, such as the TA or TB Series, have proven to be excellent solutions for applications requiring high reliability discharge.

Military Replacement Parts U.S. government support agencies procure the necessary parts required by the appropriate military branches.

Industrial EBW Firing System TA triggered spark gaps are used for instantaneous firing in EBW firing systems. The systems are designed to allow remote arming and firing and to separate high voltage from the operator.

Industrial EBW for Gas and Oil Exploration TX triggered spark gaps have been designed into EBW systems for gas and oil exploration. The GDT is placed in a package with an explosive charge that goes in a deep hole that has been drilled in the ground.

Industrial Traffic Signal Application TB Triggered Spark Gaps have been utilized as protection devices for communication and control systems in railroads and subway networks.

Medical Lithotripters To facilitate the transfer of electrical energy from the storage capacitors to the shock generating components, the TB25.0 triggered spark gap, having low inductance, low dynamic resistance and long operating life, was designed into some early lithotripsy equipment.

Medical Defibrillators The TX5.0 triggered spark gap is being selected to upgrade an existing defibrillator to make it more reliable. The device is used for transferring stored energy into the load.

Closing HED has been a direct supplier to many branches of the U.S. government, as well as leading edge companies, since its inception.  Our products provide high voltage circuit protection and energy transfer solutions  Many of our gaps utilize designs to achieve unique performance characteristics  We offer a high level of technical support and customer service.  As your partner, we will support your needs from design through field installation.  Contact us now Larry Crittenden lcrittenden@highenergydevices.com 314.291.8020 www.highenergydevices.com
