How can you make these past continuous?  Happily, I sit with my friends at lunch.  Harry runs around the field excitedly.  Janice faithfully brushes her hair everyday.  They suddenly hear the sound of a train whistle.  She accidentally sleeps through her alarm clock.  Unfortunately, we always get stuck in traffic.  Surprisingly many people walk late at night.  Luckily our dog behaves well around strangers.
