15 Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue Service Legislative Fire Safety Audits Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 Part 3 Chapter 1(as amended), the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2010 Highland & Islands Fire Board is the enforcing authority for relevant premises Enforcement regime performing planned audits of relevant premises to determine compliance with the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 Helping make the Highlands & Islands a Safer and Better Place to Live, Work and Visit

16 Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue Service Legislative Fire Safety Audit Programme 2012/2013 Deliver 1373 audits in high risk premises providing sleeping accommodation Blended model utilising HIFRS auditing staff in partnership with Strathclyde and Tayside FRS auditing staff Build a robust auditing model for year 2013 and beyond to support legislative obligation Helping make the Highlands & Islands a Safer and Better Place to Live, Work and Visit
