2 Information About Me BA English Literature, University of Connecticut-Storrs MS Elementary Education, University of Bridgeport 7 th year at HCS, 3 rd year teaching 4 th grade

3 Important Information School begins: 9:05 a.m. Recess: 1:20 Lunch: 12:05 Dismissal: 3:35 p.m.

4 Specials Day 1 and 2: P.E. Day 3: Music Day 4: Library/InfoTech Day 5: Art Day 6: Exploratory/Chorus or Band *Students must wear sneakers on PE days. Please provide a smock for Art

5 4 th Grade Specials 6-day fixed rotation –Chorus/Band –2 PE Classes –Library –Art –General Music Students are encouraged to take instrumental lessons and sing in chorus Year-long calendar – monthly reminders will be sent home

7 PBIS “PBIS” is short for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. Effective classroom management and practices that prevent behavioral problems are essential for supporting teaching and learning. Clearly defined behavioral expectations are taught and reinforced.

12 Homework Reading 30 minutes every night, complete reading log Math homework from Bridges 2-3 times per week Incomplete work from class Please look in your child’s folder for our classroom homework contract

13 Conferences & Report Cards Report Card Dates: Monday, November 30, 2015 –*Conferences: December 1, 3, 4 Monday, March 14, 2016 –Conferences: March 17, 17, 18 Last Day of School *Fall conferences will be done with the substitute, report cards will be done by me. I will meet with parents if needed prior to my maternity leave (if baby doesn’t arrive early).
