4 Department of Internal Affairs Funding - Points to consider Seek advice from a DIA advisor before you apply Do you meet the criteria and are you eligible for funding? Which committee are you best to apply to? What are we likely to fund? Does what you are asking for, meet the committee priorities and outcomes for the current year?

5 Department of Internal Affairs Lottery Taranaki Community Committee Kaupapa / Purpose; Projects Activities Resources or services that have a community or social service focus, and which help connect communities, improve well- being and the quality of people’s lives.

6 Department of Internal Affairs Lottery Taranaki Community Priorities Check the website as NEW local priorities for 2016/2017 will be uploaded prior to the June opening date Priority for funding is also given to support digital literacy

7 Department of Internal Affairs Community Organisations Grants Scheme (COGS) Funded services or projects are expected to contribute community benefits or outcomes. These include that: participation in communities has been actively encouraged community leadership has been promoted community capability has been developed social, economic and cultural equity has been promoted, or downstream social and economic costs to communities and government are reduced.

8 Department of Internal Affairs Both Committees set local priorities for each year, based on feedback from the public meetings held in February New priorities will be uploaded to the website prior to opening of the round 27 th April COGS North and South Taranaki

9 Department of Internal Affairs If applying for under $10K Regular meetings at which minutes are taken Elected Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer (noted in minutes) Organisation bank account with two signatories (noted in minutes) Statement of Income and Expenditure DIA Grant Funding-- what you need to have in place

10 Department of Internal Affairs need to be a Legal entity eg, Incorporated Society, or Charitable Trust If not, then you can apply under the umbrella of National Body Annual Financial accounts must be Reviewed or Audited Regular minuted meetings / AGM Must be in line with Constitution/Rules Over $10k - What you need in place….

All applications online (no paper applications) All supporting documents need to be able to be scanned & uploaded RealMe Logon Realme.govt.nz Or www.communitymatters.govt.nz Organisational & Individual Profiles Profile Secretary authorised to submit a request and edit information for the organisation Signatories

What are the expected benefits /outcomes? How does your request align with the priorities of this fund? Supporting Documentation required- Must upload a Budget

16 Department of Internal Affairs Reporting Requirements You are required to report against the request submitted, this includes; Community Need Community Benefit Outcomes and Budget that you stated in your request Due date is 12months from the date the grant was approved

17 Department of Internal Affairs Note: All your Results Reports will be under this section Focus on Outcomes and Benefits achieved Can save as a draft and return to it when you have all the information.

18 Department of Internal Affairs Financial documents required a statement of income and expenditure is required, summarising what happened in line with the budget presented with your request. the DIA grant and any other grants or income should be clearly stated in this summary, along with all the expenses incurred.
