This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee As from April 2015, the Sports industry is being phased into the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013. You are required to have a Working with Children Check if you work as a volunteer or paid person in a sports club. Cricket Clubs must: 1.Identify roles that need a check 2.Notify people that they need to give you their WWCC number from April 1 st 2016 3.Register your Club as an employer 4.Verify the status of each WWCC, keeping a record. This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee The WWC Check is a Government requirement that applies to persons who work or volunteer with children (u18). It checks the background of persons who work or volunteer with children in sport clubs, schools, child care centres, community groups, Churches and other organisations. Once you clear a WWC Check you are issued with a WWC Number that proves you are cleared to work with children. What is a Working with Children Check ?

Paid and volunteer Coaches People who assist regularly with Cricket activities Board or committee members who assist regularly with Cricket activities Anyone who mentors children under 18

All paid coaches etc. and volunteers apply online here: http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children/working-with-children-check 2. You will receive an application number. 3. Go to the Motor Registry with your application number and pay $80. The check is free for Volunteers. 4. You will be sent your official WWCC number by email. 5. Take this number of your Cricket Club for them to verify. How to obtain a WWC Number

This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee 1.Clubs must advise any person (over 18 years) in a paid or volunteer role working with children (u18) that they must apply for a Working with Children Check and obtain a WWC Number to be able to work or volunteer with children (u18). 2.A person working or volunteering with children must provide their WWC Number to their club unless exempt. 3.The WWC number should be provided at the commencement of their role. If a person is unable to provide their WWC Number within a reasonable time or refuses to obtain a WWC Number then that person is not permitted to work or volunteer with children. What Clubs must do now:

This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee 1.Your Club must register as an Employer on the WWC System. 2.http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children/Working-With-Children- Check/Child-related-employershttp://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children/Working-With-Children- Check/Child-related-employers 3.Even if your organisation only has volunteers, you still have to register as a WWC Check employer to be able to verify volunteer WWC numbers online. 4.When completing the Employer Registration, select the Child Related sector called 'clubs and other bodies providing services for children'. You will also need to choose a Username and Password for your organisation. Ensure it is easy and remember and keep it on record so it can be accessed. 5.The first contact person registered should be your club President or Secretary. The second contact person should be the Association GM or CEO, or if you are not affiliated to an association then the second contact person should be another responsible person at your club. This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee Once you have registered as an employer, you can now start verifying WWC Numbers of your coaches and managers and other people volunteering or working face-to-face with children u18. To verify a WWC number go to www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au and log into the "Working with Children Check Start Here" (blue box) using your username and password. www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au Select the Employer Log In and Verify tab. Enter your employee’s (worker or volunteer) SURNAME, DATE OF BIRTH AND WWC Number and select Verify. You should then get a clearance message. How to verify that someone can work at your Club :

Once verified the worker/volunteer can commence working with children.
