1. Using an Android device open the Android Play Store. Using an Apple device (iPhone or iPad) open the iTunes Store Search for “Collector for ArcGIS” and download. Downloading the Collector for ArcGIS

2. When download is complete, tap the icon on your phone’s home screen. A screen will appear asking how you want to log-in. Tap on Portal for ArcGIS You will need to search for the MDOT organizational Portal by entering the website seen to your left. Logging into the Collector for ArcGIS

3. To enter MDOT’s portal you will need to sign in using your user name and password.

4. Accessing the Graffiti Map When you have successfully logged into the MDOT organization portal, a screen will appear with your maps on it (you will only have the graffiti map). Tap the “Graffiti Maintenance Map” box.

5. Using the Graffiti Map The map will appear and it will automatically zoom in on your location using GPS You will only be able to create a point according to your location. To create a point tap the “Plus Sign (+)” in the top.

6. Using the Graffiti Map Before the map creates a point it will ask you to enter information about the point. Enter the information by tapping on the boxes Some boxes such as Route will have information that you can select but not enter. For example, when you click Route all the highways in Michigan will appear, you can tap one to select it.

7. Using the Graffiti Map This is how the information boxes will appear when the information is entered You can take pictures Before or After you enter in information by tapping the “Camera Icon” on top.

8. Taking Pictures This screen will appear after clicking the camera icon Tap the “Add” button and take a selfie (just kidding). You can add, take, and save as many pictures as you want for each point. After you’re done taking selfie’s, tap “Done”. This will save the pictures. You will be taken back to the information screen. Tap “Submit” to save everything.

9. Tap a point to change its information or add pictures. Click the box with a north arrow. Tap “Edit”. This will take you to the information screen from earlier and you will be able to change the information or add pictures. Make sure to submit your changes by clicking “Update” in the top.
