Product -Prototype Development –R &D Examples: Smart – products (i.e. a urinary catheter that alarms when it needs to be removed or when it detects a defined condition) Simulation Friendly Medical Equipment – (i.e. a vital signs machine that can produce vital signs that align with scenarios to increase realism when Standardized Patients are used or patient monitors are not required)

3. Work Flow Analysis Analysis of how teams navigate a work environment during various conditions. Analysis of points of critical intersections (i.e. handoffs, time- outs, team collaboration, medication administration, etc…)

4. Blank Space - Canvas Development of a room that mimics the dimensions of a typical hospital room that can be used to – test and analyze equipment / furniture configurations and the effects on work flow, patient safety, outcomes, efficiencies, and effectiveness. Would be great to have walls that all had writable and magnetic surfaces, to be able to quickly change configurations. – Ideally this space should be optimal for researching holograms and their uses.
