2. To divide decimals Change the number you are dividing by into a whole number Do this by multiplying by 10, 100 or 1000. Do exactly the same to the number you are dividing. Divide to find the answer. Example4·5 ÷ 0·5 Example2·64 ÷ 0·2 45 ÷ 5 so 4.5 ÷ 0.5 = 9 26.4 ÷ 2 Multiply each number by 10 You need to change this into a whole number = 9 Multiply each number by 10 so2·64 ÷ 0·2 = 13.2 = 13.2 You need to change this into a whole number
