- VOCABULARY - INTERSECTING LINES, PARELLEL LINES, AND TRANSVERSALS - ANGLES - TRIANGLES - CIRCLES - QUADRILATERALS - PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM

 LINES: PERPENDICULAR – a straight line that crosses another straight line to create a 90 ⁰ angle. PARALLEL – a straight line that runs along the same angle as another straight line and will never intersect TRANSVERSAL – a straight line that intersects two or more lines MIDPOINT – the point of a line segment that divides the line segment evenly in two equal parts

 ANGLES OPPOSITE ANGLES – non-adjacent angles that are formed by two intersecting lines ADJACENT ANGLES – angles that share a common vertex and a common arm VERTEX – a special kind of point that describes the corners or intersections of geometric shapes COMPLIMENTARY ANGLES – two angles that add up to 90 ⁰ RIGHT ANGLE – one angle that is 90 ⁰

 ANGLES SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES – two angles that add up to 180 ⁰ STRAIGHT ANGLE – one angle that is 180 ⁰ CORRESPONDING ANGLES – matching angles that are formed by transversal and two parallel lines CIRCLE – has exactly 360 ⁰ TRIANGLE – HAS EXACTLY 180 ⁰

 Parallel lines are the two lines that are at the same angle and same distance. They will never intersect.  Therefore, if a line intersects with them they will have corresponding angles. (1 = 3 = 8) 1 3 8
