VARIABLES  The population (age/grade, quantity of participants, students/or adults) is school- aged learners from Pre-K to 5 th grade in Elementary school. I want to find out how technology impacts students early in their school years and the effects it has later.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS  1. What is the students’ prior knowledge of technology?  2. How will the students respond to the technology?  3. ha was the impact of using technology in the classroom ?

DATA COLLECTION  Student survey  Pre/Post Test  Parent/Student survey

CONSIDERATIONS/ETHICS  Considering the technological driven society, I think we are stuck with it. Technology and its advances improve daily and as educators we have to change and begin to utilize it as a resource. I wonder what technology impacts these students the most? I hope to answer that technology has and is a great tool if uses appropriately and consistently as a teaching tool and resource.  Ethics are important when students are exposed to technology. Policies must be addressed and consent forms must be signed.

DATA ANALYSIS/INTERPRETATIO N  The data will be reviewed and compiled to see if the technology implementation has been effective.  Additionally, the team and administrators will analyze the data to address if the technology implementation will continue school-wide.

ACTION PLAN  Meet with the grade level team along with administration to decide what technology tools are available for purchase and already at the school.  Professional development on use of devices and how to incorporate the resources in lesson plans and classroom. Additional professional development to use devices as assistive technology for students with disabilities.  Student survey of technology they are familiar with and their use.  Consent and ethical policy sent home for student and parent signatures.  Pretest on the technology used and lessons.

ACTION PLAN CONTINUED  Grade level meeting to discuss pretest results and data. The team will determine what technology is working and what teachers need assistance with planning and use of technology.  Continued use of technology, software, and devices to assist student learning.  Post- test and data analysis.  Parent survey to gage their student learning and success in the classroom.  End of the school year review with staff and administration to see data of learning and technology
