2 SPHS Graduation Requirements  220 Credits  Community Service Hours (minimum 45 hours)

3 Required Classes 9 th Grade students 7 classes Mandatory PE and 9 th grade Study Hall 10 th - 11 th Grade students 7 classes; one can be a Home Study or Study Hall 12 th Grade students Minimum of 5 classes, with a maximum of 2 Home Studies (with appropriate permission)

4 History-(A) Requirement A-G: 2 years Diploma: 3 years 10 th Grade: World History: Standard or Honors* 11 th Grade: US History: Standard, Honors* or AP* 12 th Grade: Civics/ Economics, US Gov AP*, Micro/Macro Economics AP* *Skills Mastery Form required for enrollment

5 English-(B) Requirement A-G: 4 years Diploma: 4 years  9 th Literature: Standard  10 th World Literature: Standard or Honors*  11 th American Literature: Standard, Honors* or English Language AP*  12 th British Literature, English Literature AP*, or English Language AP* * Skills Mastery Form required for enrollment

6 Math-(C)Requirement A-G: 3 yrs ( must take/pass Adv Alg/Math 3 ) Diploma: 2 yrs** Current Math Class For A-G “C” or above all year D’s or F’s earned in any 1st semester math course needs to be repeated in order to advance to the next math level. 8 Language other than English (LOTE) (E) Requirement A-G: 2 years Diploma: 1 year** Chinese, French, Spanish –Standard –Honors* –AP * For A-G, at least 2 years of same language, with a “C” or better (3 recommended for UC) *Skills Mastery Form required for enrollment ** For HS, 1 year of either LOTE or VPA

12 CTE Pathways

13 P.E. 4 semesters of PE to graduate  9 th and 10 th graders take PE for entire year  continuation of PE in 11 th -12 th grades if Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is not passed/not taken.

14 Sports and Pep count for PE 5 credits per sport Must maintain 2.0 GPA (Pep is 2.5) Must tryout for ALL sports Fall semester of Band/Color Guard earns PE credit Sports F all Football Winter Soccer Spring Baseball 1st SEMESTER 2nd SEMESTER SPORTS

15 Health You must take 1 semester of Health to graduate.

24 Course Selection List Sheet Directions 1.Circle the classes you are taking (6 minimum) 2.Add Alternative Electives 3.Write in your summer school/plans 4.Turn in your Skills Mastery form(s) to your counselor when you meet with her in March.

28 Good to Know Adjustments to your course selection can be made during Counselor meeting in March. Bring all Skills Mastery Sheets to meeting with Counselor. If you do not bring COMPLETED Skills Mastery Form(s) to this meeting, your course request will be changed to a standard class. No changes will be made after March 31, 2016

29 Important Reminders Counselors will meet individually with assigned students as follows: 11 th Grade: March 3-9, 2016 10 th Grade: March 14-18, 2016 9 th Grade: March 21-25, 2016

30 More Reminders *Parent signature is required on 4-Year Plan *Have parent initial yes/no to “A-G” courses. IMPORTANT: All Skills Mastery form(s) are due on the day you meet with your counselor. If you don’t have this form, you will not be enrolled in the class!
