2 Homework Reminders Vocab unit 10 activities are due on Friday! Make sure to study for the quiz! Survival Guide Project due Monday, April 11 th (Summative Grade) Read Into the Wild – Author’s Note through all of Chapter 6 by block day next week (April 13 th /14 th )! Be ready for a reading check quiz!

3 Research Reminders Make sure you are keeping a list of websites that you have used in order to create a Works Cited page! Don’t forget to keep track of your images too. (The databases create a MLA entry for you.) When creating each Easy Bib entry, check to make sure the article title is correct. If possible, fill in any missing information as well. Let’s put together a quick Works Cited using EasyBib.com in order to learn how to export the list to a Word document!

5 Wildlife in Sossusvlei The Namib Desert Due to the arid conditions of the Namib Desert, most animals that inhabit the region must be able to deal with extreme heat and limited access to water. While there are over 70 different species of reptiles (from lizards and sand snakes to scorpions and beetles), there are 5 species that can only be found in this desert! Predators / Dangers to be on the lookout for: Black-backed jackal Brown hyena Spotted hyena Wild warthogs Peringuey’s adder (poisonous snake) Animals that can be a food source: Gemsock or Springbok antelope Small rodent species (desert pocket mouse, cape ground squirrel) Wild warthogs Methods for trapping/killing animals: Bow and arrows (protection from larger predators and killing larger mammals) Sling shot and rocks (smaller rodents)
