Lesson 17 ELABORATE1 Day 2 Desert Habitats Can Have Are be very hot and dry_ places.____________ cactus, sand, and__ animals that survive with very little water. great habitats for snakes and lizards, but not for_ fish or amphibians that_ need moisture.________ Draw both living and nonliving things in this habitat. Show a food chain that could be found in this habitat. Here is an example: SCIE_2_A_Les17HabitatsDay2_MAT CFISD

Lesson 17 ELABORATE5 Day 2 Use pictures to help you choose the living things that would be found in your group’s habitat. Make a list of living things that your group could choose to include in your food chain game. Be sure that the living things you list are able to survive in your group’s habitat. 11 Think about a food chain in your group’s habitat.
Lesson 17 ELABORATE6 Day 2 Think about a food chain in your group’s habitat. Look for: plants, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals that could live in and survive in your habitat. In your science notebook, draw and label a food chain for your habitat. Larger animal eater Plant eater plant Small animal eater SCIE_2_A_Les17HabitatsDay2_MAT CFISD

16 Make your own Food Chain Game:
Lesson 17 ELABORATE11 Day 2 Make your own Food Chain Game: All students must play fairly and honestly. Be careful and respectful of other students. Rock beats Scissors Scissors beats Paper Paper beats Rock Everyone begins as a PLANT from your habitat. Compete with students who are doing the same body movement as you. Move up the food chain in order: PLANT  plant eater  animal eater  bigger animal eater 5. Teach your habitat’s food chain game to the class!  SCIE_2_A_Les17HabitatsDay2_MAT CFISD SCIE_2_A_Les17HabitatsDay2_MAT
