2 What are the issues you face? On the sticky notes attached to your handouts, identify three things that you feel are barriers to a child care system that is fully inclusive. WRITE BIG!

3 The Challenge Game!! Put your three issues on the wall according to how big of a challenge you believe this issue is in your community or state.

4 Inclusion requires both attitude and skill.

5 Quality is directly linked to inclusion.

6 Confidence is as important as competence.

7 Ask questions and listen to the answers.

8 Child care must be viewed in the context of the family.

9 Training and information must be readily available.

10 Content must be imbedded in existing routines.

14 Elements for Success:  Federal System that encourages collaboration.  State System that practices collaboration.  Leaders who have vision.  Family members who have a mission.  Practitioners who have skill and intention.
