2. Who Is The Artist? The artist is called Marc Chagall Born on July 7 1887 in a poor family in Russia. He was the eldest of nine children. He began to show his artistic talent while studying at a Russian school. In 1910, Chagall, moved to Paris for four years. During that time he painted some of his most famous paintings. Marc Chagall died at the age of 97, on March 28, 1985, in France.

3. The Artwork “I and My village” Created in 1911 in Paris, France. The subject of his artwork was his Russian childhood environment. The medium the artist used for this artwork is oil on canvas. It has a green-faced man wearing a hat, a goat being milked on the face of a cow, a glowing tree, and a collection of houses in the background.

4. Why did I choose this particular artist and artwork? I chose the artist Marc Chagall because I heard of him and I really wanted to learn more about him and his style of art. I chose this particular artwork by Marc Chagall called “I and My village” because it has bright and vibrant colors, it is dreamy-like painting with fantasy. Also because it is a portrayal of his Russian growing-up environment.
