7 “Who Am I?” Lay your graphic organizers face down on your desk. Each student will have a word and hold it up to their forehead (without looking at it). 10 Find Your Matches Each person has a card. These cards are all part of a set of three. Each set contains a word, a definition and an example. Find the people with the other two parts of your set and group together quietly. When everyone has found their set of three matching cards, we will share the results. Each person has a card. 13 Draw What I Say Student 1 fans the cards face down. Student 2 picks a card and reads it to students 3, allowing 5 seconds of think time. Student 3 draws a diagram of what was said, correctly labeling it. Student 4 checks Student 3’s work and praises, or coaches then praises. Cards are passed to the next person in a clockwise direction and the steps are repeated until each person has drawn an example of every card. Student 1 fans the cards face down. 14 Project/Homework Create a picture that incorporates basic geometry terms. The picture will fill an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper. A notation legend should be attached on a separate piece of notebook paper. Projects without a notation legend will not be graded. The project will be graded on the number of geometric terms incorporated into the picture, the accuracy of the legend, neatness, creativity and color. Feel free to schedule some seminar time to use geometers or other tools to draw with. Computer generated pictures are acceptable too.
