8 Goal #1: To Form a more perfect Union  To unite the states to operate as a single nation

9 Goal #2: To establish Justice  To create a system of fair laws and courts = equality for all citizens

10 Goal #3: To insure domestic Tranquility  To maintain peace and order, keep citizens safe

11 Goal #4: To provide for the common defense  Ready with militarily to protect the country from foreign attacks.

12 Goal #5: To promote the general Welfare  To help people live healthy, happy, and prosperous lives

13 Goal #6: To secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity  To guarantee freedom and basic rights to all citizens and future citizens (posterity).  In order to carry out these goals, we the people ordain (declare) this as our plan for government – our constitution!
