Difference between pulse rate instruments and medical mirror ADVANTAGES Future implementation Conclusion

Introduction It was invented by Ming- zher in 2010.but it was implemented in 2011

ordinary people start to have access and control over their own physiological data they can play a more active role in the management of their health

physiological monitoring typically require users to strap on bulky sensors, chest straps or sticky electrodes This discourages regular use propose a new mirror interface for real-time contact-free measurements of heart rate without the need for external sensors. It was recently presented at the SIGGRAPH 2011 Emerging Technologies program.SIGGRAPH

Requirements LCD display Web cam Two way mirror frame Blood volume pulse signal

Bland design programming language Public domain software

Design designed the Medical Mirror to provide a natural user interface. utilized an LCD monitor with a built-in webcam to provide an interactive display. A two-way mirror was fitted onto the frame to present a reflective surface for the users in normal lighting conditions

the LCD monitor and webcam are not visible to the user webcam and the LCD monitor can be used to project information onto the reflective surface of the mirror. The monitor and webcam are connected to a laptop running the analysis software in real-time

Technology combining techniques in computer vision and advanced signal an automated face tracker detects the largest face within the video feed from the webcam localizes the measurement region of interest (ROI) for each video frame. The ROI is then separated into the three RGB channels and spatially averaged over all pixels to yield a red, blue and green measurement point for each frame and form the raw RGB signals

raw RGB signals are decomposed into three independent components. The power spectrum of the component containing the strongest blood volume pulse signal

working The webcam in a monitor captures the changes in the light reflected off the subject’s face The computer translates the light data into a heart rate reading. Here we use bland design programming language developed an algorithm that could pick out the heart rate’s light pattern from all the other reflected light captured by a webcam

Poh wrote code to process the data in real time, allowing the laptop to generate an instant heart-rate reading

Interaction A single user will be able to interact with the mirror at a time the user will see a box appear around his/her face timer will be displayed on the top corner of the box. After 15 s, the user’s heart rate will be displayed on the mirror, allowing simultaneous visualization of his/her physical appearance and physiological state.

the mirror estimates your heart rate without any wires or sensors: which each beat of the heart, the facial capillaries are being filled with blood and then empted. This changes the tone of the skin on a person’s face The built-in webcam records the alterations in the skin tone and then a computer processes the changes to show the user’s heart rateskin tone

Difference between pulse rate instruments and medical mirror 1.Here we use sensing equipment which are contact to our body to caliculate a pulse rate Here we sensing equipment without touching our body

2. many times, sensing equipment is uncomfortable to the body, and is hard to use 3.Here we use more number of wires and physical sensors to record patients health 4.Doctor keep track of their patients with costly visit office This medical mirror eliminates all the hassles and is easy to use In medical mirror we use less number of connections and sensors Doctor keep better track of their patients without costly office visit

Advantages in medical mirror 1.it is able to record the heart rate of the personheart rate 2.We use normal web came 3. the mirror estimates your heart rate without any wires And sensors are not contact your body 4.This shows your inner health

Future implementations So far the mirror can calculate only heart rate but in the future researchers hope it will perform a variety of other functions, becoming a home health management system that can show the levels of cholesterol levels and body mass index (BMI)health management systembody mass index (BMI) developing the capability to get blood pressure and blood- oxygen measurements from the same video images

Conclusion This project illustrates an innovative approach to pervasive health monitoring based on state of the art technology. The Medical Mirror fits seamlessly into the ambient home environment, blending the data collection process into the course of our daily routines. For example, one can envision collecting health data when using the mirror for shaving, brushing teeth etc.

This interface is intended to provide a convenient This revolutionary advancement in medical technology can prove beneficial to the health of many people. This technology is helpful because many times, sensing equipment is uncomfortable to the body, and is hard to use. This medical mirror eliminates all the hassles and is easy to use. it could also help doctors keep better track of their patients without costly office visits.
