2 About the unit/ Where this unit fits - The pupils will explore fiction narrative texts throughout a tale. - This story will help them to understand the different parts of a tale’s structure (introduction, body and conclusion). - The pupils will learn how to predict what will happen in a story with some pictures, the description of the characters of the tale and represent them. - Pupils should be familiar with simple description of characters and settings and structure of dialogues. - This unit also work with read-write from an early age. - This unit works cross-curricular themes like environmental knowledge linking it with the kinds of materials.

3 Prior Learning - Before this unit starts students should recognize different kinds of animals. - Relay some movements with different situations that appear in a narrative story. - Follow a dialogue between more than two characters - Know social rules like respecting the turn of talking. - Distinguish the parts of a story. Language used in the unit - Use specific terms about the materials that we find in the tale and other ones that students may be interested in. - Work the non verbal language in the activities with the theatre and the pupils will have to relay the movements with the situations that they have to represent.

5 Expectations At the end of this unit all the children must - Follow and understand the story of the song and realize that there are three different materials, sing the song, follow the rhythm of the song At the end of this unit most of the children should - Name and recognize the three different materials, link the different materials with the pictures and predict what is going to do the wolf, represent the scene with gestures but also with some words, predict what will happen in the story and understand and follow the story. At the end of this unit some of the children could - Sing the song and relate each material with the character that uses it, represent any role of the story, represent the scene only with gestures, dramatize the story and use the dialogues of the text., understand and follow the story, moreover relay the pictures with the correct

6 Lesson 1 Outline of leading activities Name and recognize the three different materials that appear in the song (straw, wood and bricks) and be able relate each one with the character that uses it to build the house. Learning objectives - Listen and understand a narrative text. - Respect the social rules communication (turns of speaking, listening, asking, answering…) - Use of the correct forms to say hello and goodbye Learning outcomes - Recognition of the three different materials, straw, wood and bricks. - Recognition of the three characters and the material each one uses. - Following the rhythm of the song.

7 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Follow the story of the song and realize that there are three different materials. - Most of the children will be able to Name and recognize the three different materials. - Some of the children could Sing the song and relate each material with the character that uses it.

8 Lesson 2 Outline of leading activities Be able to predict what will happen in the story when the wolf appear and represent that story without words. Learning objectives - Understand and relay a narrative text with the currently part of the tale. - Be able to simulate a story only with images. Learning outcomes - Identification and relation of each material with the different houses. - Dramatization of the story without sounds. - Knowledge and respect for the rules of the game

9 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Sing the song and follow the story - Most of the children will be able to Link the different materials with the pictures and predict what is going to do the wolf. - Some of the children could Represent any role of the story.

10 Lesson 3 Outline of leading activities Be able to build the houses with cards and blocks to finally blow down them. Learning objectives - Recognize the different roles that characters play in the tale. -Be able to adapt with the characteristics of the roles. Learning outcomes - Identification the characters in the different scenes. -construction the houses with the materials that appears in the tale.

11 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Sing the song and colour the pictures - Most of the children will be able to Sing the song, colour the pictures and follow the point line - Some of the children could Same of previous levels and build the houses

12 Lesson 4 Outline of leading activities Predict the end of the tale and dramatize it with all the class Learning objectives - Understand a narrative text with the help of images. -Performance deductions from an image Learning outcomes - Prediction of the end of the story, be able to imagine what is going to happen.

13 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Follow the story - Most of the children will be able to Represent the scene with gestures but also with some words - Some of the children could Represent the scene only with gestures

14 Lesson 5 Outline of leading activities Dramatize the complete story using the little theatre Learning objectives - Dramatization of a text using figures and a theatre. -Remember the song and follow the rhythm through the claps. Learning outcomes - Following the rhythm of the song while clapping - Representation of the story with a little theatre

15 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Follow the rhythm of the song and follow the story - Most of the children will be able to Predict what will happen in the story - Some of the children could Dramatize the story and use the dialogues of the text

16 Lesson 6 Outline of leading activities Dramatize the story in little groups Learning objectives - Understand a narrative text with the help of images. - Dramatize the tale with the adequate movements. - Respect the social rules communication (turns of speaking, listening, asking, answering… Learning outcomes - Understanding narrative and informative, fiction or real oral texts with gestures. - Producing oral text worked previously

17 Assessment Criteria - All children must be able to Understand the story - Most of the children will be able to Understand and follow the story - Some of the children could Understand and follow the story, moreover relay the pictures with the correct

18 Key competences: - Competence in linguistic communication: The children work this key competence because they are in a subject that belongs to a linguistic area and they are learning kinds of texts, in this unit, it is a narrative fiction tale. - Competence in knowledge and interaction with the physical world: Relaying with the materials the students can see in the tale. They have to identify them and learn their characteristics. - Competence in social skills and citizenship: The pupils work this key competence in the tale when they represent it, and see that the giraffe let his friends to live with him when the wolf blows his friend’s houses down. The students also work this competence in all the activities they interact with each other

19 - Artistic competence: The children work artistic competence when they create their own houses with toothpicks and also when they colour the pictures. - Autonomy and personal initiative: The students work autonomy when they create their own book with the cards of the activity book. And also when they clean up the class every day after the lesson. - Emotional competence: When they interpret different roles of the tale and assume the characteristics and have to interact with the rest of the students.
