1 Robertson County School Volunteer Training Presented by Thomas Mitchell, Community Education Director & Diana Wells, FRYSC and Volunteer Coordinator

2 Introduction Each person wishing to volunteer at Robertson County School must complete a volunteer training and background check In addition this training is also required to participate in Operation 360. The Robertson County Board of Education, Robertson County School, Faculty, Staff, and Students want to Thank You for taking this step by the giving of your time and talents to our students.

3 Required Documents for Volunteer Training There are four documents to be filled out at the conclusion of the training. These documents are included in the training, BUT the best way to fill these out is with Mrs. Diana Wells in the Family Resource and Youth Services Center located next to the Board of Education. Mrs. Diana will be happy to assist you in filling these out and she must sign the Volunteer Training Checklist. The forms are: Non-Disclosure Form Volunteer Application Volunteer Log (360 only) Volunteer Training Checklist

4 Required Presentations There are seven presentations (counting this one) to read through, and one accompanying document with answers to “yes” or “no” questions. All presentations and documents are in order. The training should take about three hours. Presentations are listed on the next slide and also found on the Volunteer Training Checklist.

6 What Do I Do When I Finish? After you finish the training presentations, call Mrs. Diana Wells and schedule an appointment to see her in the FRYSC office at the school. Then fill out your forms and paperwork with her, including information for your criminal background check. Background check costs $20. For Operation 360 volunteers the check is free (Only until November 30 th, 2016) Mrs. Diana Wells can be reached at (606) 724-5431, ext. 5303 or by email: diana.wells@robertson.kyschools.us

7 What is Operation 360? Operation is a grant through the RC Durr Foundation paying a one- time donation of $100 for volunteers who serve for 10 hours, for up to 360 volunteers. Volunteers must be trained for 3 hours (this training) They must complete 4 additional hours of academic service (see third presentation) They must also complete 3 additional hours of academic service or non-academic service (see fourth presentation) Hours must be completed by December 31 st, 2016
